Hello! I'm pursuing my passion in Early Childhood and Elementary Education with a minor in Special Education. I will graduate April 2021. I've spent the past three and a half years in North Dakota although I'm originally from Minnesota. Even though Minnesota will always have a large portion of my heart, I've come to love North Dakota and the life I've built here. However, I'm excited to see where God takes me in this next chapter of my life; whether that's to stay in North Dakota or go on a new adventure to another place.
The three most defining characteristics of who I am are my Catholic faith, my family and friends, and my passion for education. Everything I do and everything I am is determined by one of these three aspects or a combination of the three. When I'm not in the classroom you can find me in my hammock curled up with a good book, at a coffee shop catching up with friends, wandering around exploring hiking trails, camping, traveling to spend time with family or to see new places, or just relaxing and enjoying each day as it comes. |

Why Education?
God has made you the way you are to impact others right where He's placed you. |
As far back as I can remember, I've always preferred spending time with kids. From younger cousins at family events, to new babies in the neighborhood, to children I was babysitting, being around kids has always been where I'm most comfortable.
My formal decision to pursue education as a career officially came the summer before college when I was working at a learning care center with three-year-olds. I realized that building relationships with children is the most rewarding thing that I can do. Walking with them as they learn and being there for each 'a-ha' moment as it comes brought me so much joy. Even on the hard days when nothing seemed to be going right, emotions were running high, and all we could do was take it minute by minute, I knew those children needed someone who cared about them and I knew I could be that someone. I found myself leaving work every night knowing that I truly couldn't wait to go back the next day to be with these kids. I honestly couldn't see myself doing anything else with my life. That summer I chose to become a teacher. Since then, every step forward in this vocation has only reinforced the fact that teaching is exactly what God made me to do. |
