Teaching Philosophy
As an educator, I want to ignite the desire to learn and grow in each of my students. As a teacher, my role is to guide and facilitate learning by sparking curiosity, accounting for individual needs, providing and organizing multiple learning opportunities, and making the curriculum applicable and relevant to the students. Children learn best by doing, so any opportunity to make material hands-on needs to be taken. Children need to feel safe and valued in their learning environment in order to take risks and make mistakes because each mistake becomes an opportunity for growth and each risk pushes a student outside of their comfort zone. |
Classroom Management Philosophy
My classroom management philosophy is based on creating a classroom environment in which all people are given respect, every mistake is an opportunity to learn, consistency is guaranteed, and creativity is fostered. Every learner will be a part of a bigger community that is inclusive and fair. When mistakes are made there will be empathy and the opportunity to try again and learn from it. Consistency will occur through procedures and organization, but the consistency will not stop creativity from flowing because flexibility is important.
